Organization

Over 180 people work at the FBA in Sweden, at its offices in Stockholm and Sandö.

The agency consists of six departments:

  • Department for Multilateral Cooperation
  • Department for Conflict Prevention & Peacebuilding
  • Department for Bilateral and regional cooperation
  • Department for Management and support

Management

The FBA is led by a Director-General. Per Olsson Fridh was appointed Director-General in 2022.

He is supported by a directorate and a government-appointed advisory council.

Directorate

Apart from the director-general, the directorate consists of:

The directorate is involved in the planning, implementation and follow-up of the day-to-day work of the agency. The directorate also deals with issues of a strategic nature concerning the agency.

Advisory council

The advisory council is the highest advisory body of the agency. Members of the council are appointed by the Swedish government and sessions are held four times per year. The Director-General keeps the council informed about the work of FBA and is chairman of the council.

Sara EL Khatib in Palestine awarded FBA’s 1325 scholarship

Sara EL Khatib has been awarded this year’s 1325 scholarship on women, peace and security in Palestine. The scholarship, established in memory of Zaida Catalán, allows her to spend a year with the civil society institution MIFTAH.
